In January of 2025 I was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, a rare, aggressive, and currently incurable cancer of the lining of the lung. I started treatment in February, receiving chemotherapy and Keytruda, a form of immunotherapy that was approved for mesothelioma here in the US only in September of 2024. Thanks to this new treatment, I am now in partial remission.
The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation provides seed grants to researchers undertaking foundational research on mesothelioma. This kind of research seeks to better understand mesothelioma and to lay the groundwork for improved treatments options and, someday, a cure.
Please join me in the fight for a cure!
