FEARLESS--MAGICAL--INSPIRATIONAL
Our warrior Bret at age 23 had routine umbilical hernia surgery unexpectedly was diagnosed after multiple pathology reports confirming peritoneal mesothelioma in 2013. Being an active, healthy, strong and athletic young man, he was determined to deal aggressively with his diagnosis and dismal prognosis. Having treatment discussions with oncologists and Mary Hesdorffer, nurse director from the Mesothelioma Research Foundation, cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC were performed at UPMC, followed by chemotherapy at University of Chicago Medical, T-Cell therapy trials at the NIH in Bethesda, more chemo and finally immunotherapy at U of C over the next 8 years. Bret never complained about his struggles with his commitment having treatments to help himself, with the hope that other future patients could benefit as well living life to the fullest. A finance and economics major graduate from Ohio State University, he was passionate as a financial analyst and later dedicated in promoting financial software for AlphaSense selling to large energy companies nationwide. He believed in his work ethic with sincerity representing AlphaSense responsibly with knowledge and confidence. Due to his determination, magical background and charm, he was extremely motivated and successful in sales.
The Rosenthal Family appreciates the continuing support from relatives, friends, many co-workers and others for their contributions honoring Bret's memory, with the hope of finding a cure for both pleural and peritoneal mesothelioma.
Thank you to AlphaSense for their annual tribute donation of $5000 to curemeso.org and recognizing a dedicated employee yearly with the Bret Rosenthal Making Magic Award.
